This move causes the user to faint, and the target receives damage equal to however much HP the user lost while executing the move.
If Final Gambit would not hit the opponent due to missing, immunity or protection, then the move will fail and the user will not faint. Using this move will not activate the Focus Band or Sash, and therefore the Pokémon still faints regardless of whether the item is held or not. However, this move will not faint a Pokémon with Sturdy if it was at full HP before using it.
In a triple battle, this move may target anyone facing or adjacent to the user.
